Protect Your Energy & Know Your Worth
We hear a lot about self-care, having a positive outlook on life, and are told that self-respect is needed to show the world how it will treat you.
What we don’t always hear is someone else saying they have a hard time too. What we don’t always hear are the words we need in hard times. Friendships, relationships, jobs, and trying to balance who you are as a person without losing yourself in the daily life juggle, is REAL.
Episode 6 of my podcast is all about protecting your energy, knowing your worth, and I give you some food for thought to apply to your own life. Jot down the affirmations I talk about, too, so you can refer to them later. I do that for “thoughts to remember” too and they’re helpful for me when I need to be reminded that my energy requires boundaries.
A few points I mention in addition to things that drain energy are:
‘No’ is a complete sentence.
Don’t dull your shine because others can’t deal with their reflection.
Have the courage to be disliked by people. You aren’t going to be fo everyone. You aren’t supposed to be.
You are not required to set yourself on fire to keep others warm
